A poem, inspired by Clarissa Pinkola Estés

New eyes to see the immaterial beauty in the other,
The ability to say, ‘I was wrong,’
Both strong and sensitive,
To share the pain of another.

An inner life merged and separate,
A similar passion for life,
Similar values,
Can listen with compassion.

Can laugh at themselves and stop an argument on a dime,
Able to overlook faults,
Able to be friends,
One who makes your life bigger, rather than small.
